Product Innovation Workshops As product managers we work with too often feel like victims of the challenges and changes we all face in the current economy. But with the entrepreneur’s point-of-view, and equipped with the entrepreneur’s chief instrument, innovation, the product manager and product developer can transform challenges and changes into business opportunities. We have written a 4 part series entitled, “Challenges and Change provide a bonanza for Product Managers.” The four parts are entitled: Part 1: Identifying anomalies and converting them into business opportunities In these articles we lay out the principles and best practices of entrepreneurship and its chief instrument, innovation, that product managers and product developers can use to turn these challenges into opportunities. Each article links to a 10 question quiz, “How entrepreneurial is your company?” that provides the reader with an immediate diagnosis and suggestions for making their product management and development efforts more entrepreneurial. Entrepreneurship is not limited to the isolated genius working alone in his or her garage or college dorm. Entrepreneurship is work—systematic, skilled work—that every product manager must learn, and win support for in their organizations. In our articles, we draw on the lessons of the leading business thinkers to provide a framework for becoming more effective at performing entrepreneurial and innovative work.
